Potty training

So we have begun...

Potty training. I have decided to really take it slow, very slow! I was able to catch her in the middle of a 'push' and stripped her down and stuck her on the toilet and she had her first experience on the toilet. After that she would cry when i would open the door to the bathroom (hey, at least she quit throwing things in the toilet!). I picked up one of those toilet seat inserts to make it the right size for a kid. It has the backyardigans characters on it and she loves to point at them. After breakfast in the morning she sits on the toilet fully clothed and then gets marshmallows. She now gets super excited about it! Maybe in a month we will move onto the next step!

Good luck! We're at about the same point in potty training Abby. We have the potty chair, we've taught her the sign language for toilet, and she sits on the chair several times a day, both clothed and pantsless. Somehow, though, I don't know how to communicate to her that she actually needs to let things go while she's sitting there. She just seems to think it's a fun game to sit on the toilet. I'd love to hear any suggestions or ideas that you have!

Penelope's in the middle of this as well. She had the pee thing down in three days! The fast run down....Big girl underwear with princesses (who wants to pee on Cinderella?), animal crackers if she tries, and Smarties if she goes along with lots of clapping and calling the grandparents on the phone to make her want to do it again. Also, have her drink a lot that day so she has more chances to need to go and can learn the feeling. There's my two cents :) Good luck!
