gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married

I have been married since may of 2006 and i am just finally getting around to really looking at my pictures. I have watched my wedding video several hundred times (at least) but i just put the pictures aside and didn't really do anything with them. So i am trying to get a few big prints for me, my mother in law and my mom! So i have spent the last few days uploading them. I love my dress and my colors and its fun to appreciate those things again.
So I've been working on putting a wedding album together through Shutterfly. I have been reminiscing and enjoying my wedding pictures. I decided to share a few of my favorites!

As soon as i am done uploading i will post the link to see the rest for those of you have been waiting for me to do this for a really really really long time!

but baby it's cold outside!

I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Hendry's for a "Redneck Thanksgiving!" Uncle Tom deep fried the turkey, it was pretty good! Here's a picture of Uncle Tom in 28 degree weather with a beer, a cigarette and no shirt watching the turkey from his lawn chair. A redneck Thanksgiving indeed. But tons and tons of fun and we always loving spending time with our family!

Today was the first real snow fall of the year. It looks beautiful and its about time! I absolutely despise driving in the snow though. However i am excited for snowboarding this winter!

Addie had her four month doctor appointment yesterday. I can believe she is four months already. We got all the stuff to feed the bugaboo some rice cereal. Well, she isn't a big fan as you can tell from these pictures. But it was hilarious! She has more personality than anyone i have ever met. My little social butterfly (mommy's little girl!).

Happy thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgiving!

This morning we woke up and ran the Human Race 5k. All the money went to the LDS Humanitarian fund and we donated canned goods also. We have decided that every thanksgiving we will do some kind of charitable thing and that will be our thanksgiving tradition.

I am grateful for Addie and Ryan for making my life better and better every second of everyday and especially for Ryan's patients and the fact that he gets up with Addie in the night and even changes diapers and supports us ( seriously lucked out marrying Ry, i quite literally found my perfect match and the greatest guy in the whole world). And of course my mom and dad, i wouldn't even know where to begin in thanking my mom and dad. It would be impossible to pick one thing so i am grateful to have them both around and EVERYTHING. And Mckay for serving a mission. I am grateful for Morgan and all the time she spends hanging out with us. I am also grateful for Kelly and Tim and the boys and Kelly's example of how to have a perfect house, smell good and look put together even with three boys. I am grateful for Tracy and Jeff and little Tay tay and Austin and especially for all that Tracy and Jeff have done for me/us. I am also grateful for my in-laws and all their support and the fact that both the Hendry's and the Spiers' took me in and have also been so unbelievably supportive through everything! Of course i am grateful for the Peterson's, the O'bryant's and the Hawkins'! The whole Palm springs crew! What a great group we have. I have been so blessed throughout my life and i am glad that there is a holiday where i can reflect on all the wonderful blessings in my life.

and one more picture before i go, this is a picture of Addie sitting up playing with her remote control robot

I <3 My MOM!!!!!

Today is my moms surgery... It stinks having to be in Utah and not there by her side. But today is the first step on the road to recovery!

For my whole life Mom you have been my own personal cheerleader and cheering squad and now its our turn to be yours! We are rooting for you Dre!

Ryan's big decision

So Ryan is really slacking on the big news post so i am going to do it for him.

Ryan has been playing around with the idea of going a different direction with his career for sometime now. I have told him and continue to to tell him that i will support him in whatever he decides to do. But officially last week Ry decided to put the PhD. in German on the back burner and has decided to go to law school. It was a huge decision for him but he has decided that he feels that he will really enjoy it and its the right thing to do and he can do his PhD a little later. So this will put an entirely different spin on everything but it will be a blast all the same. He will be taking the LSAT on December 1st.

Exciting!

Of course we still have NO IDEA where we will be in a year. ha ha Life just keeps getting more exciting.

Keep Moving Forward!

Some of you may know or may not but we found out a couple months ago that my mom has breast cancer. It was a shock of a life time. You never think these kind of things are going to happen to your family and especially my mom. It was hard to swallow. I was so shocked that this could happen to my mom; the most generous, caring, strong, selfless person i knew. I have realized through watching her that i had no idea how strong, generous, caring and selfless she really was.
She never asked why me and it never once shook her faith but instead she turned to the lord. She immediately starting seeing the glass half full. She never once thought this would defeat her instead she looked for the good in this situation. Already she has begun to point out the blessings.
This morning as i read her blog post titled "keeping you a breast" i was again amazed at her ability to keep laughing and moving on. She really is an amazing example to me to... like they say in my favorite movie "Meet the Robinsons" KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
I have always been so proud to be a Skeen and its in these times when my family really comes together that i couldn't be more grateful and be so lucky and blessed to be apart of this family. We can get through anything together and its because of our faith. I really do believe in the power of prayer more than ever. How lucky am i to have such an amazing woman as my mom? seriously.

And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

doctrine and covenants 122:7

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Lots of big news from us.

Addie is doing all sorts of new tricks. She loves her toes and loves to stand in grandma and grandpa's johnny jump up. She is getting pretty strong legs and doesn't want to sit. She has also starting doing little crunches when she is laying down (trying to sit up). She loves to sit up if i support her. She is a pretty smart little kid.
Ryan will making the next post... stay tuned for big news
