I have been so busy! I have a salon in our apartment, and i am the hairstylist to almost all (not an exaggeration)
of the summer starters at the law school. I have been so happy to be
bringing in some money. It's a really awesome position for us to be in.
I bought a hydraulic chair off craigslist
(a salon was re-doing the decor) and a huge framed mirror at the
goodwill. I have yet to lay my floor down but that sounds like a good
project for conference weekend.
I also was called to be the nursery
leader (oh joy!), and now i may not know anyone over the age of two in
our ward but i am a hit with the toddlers. Addie comes with me every
week and she loves it! Our ward splits up our nursery so we have the
older class and the younger class and they switch halfway through to go
have a "lesson". I stay in the main room and let them play and do
snack. So that means Addie's schedule goes something like, play with
the younger group, have snack with the younger group, have snack
(again!) with the older group and then play with older group. life is
pretty good in her eyes! It will be nice to have served this calling and be done with it. I figure they will have to release me one way or another by the end of this year because we spend the summers abroad or on an internship.
The weather is better, now that the summer is over. I wish it was cooler than it is but eh. I miss having some kind of seasons.
Ryan is doing really well at Duke. He is in the top half of his class, which is awesome! Since they aren't allowed to share their gpa or class ranking with other students, i do my digging since the honor code doesnt apply to me. And now that i am the hairdresser for almost all the international law students, i get the dirt!
