SHE CRAWLS!

So Addison has been scooting backwards for a little while now but today while Ryan
and i were both watching SHE CRAWLED! Now she has been crawling and
climbing on everything all night. She has the funniest crawl, she kinda
looks like Quasimodo cut off at the knees.

We had our nine month doctors appointment today. She isn't growing at such rapid speeds and is now back down the 50Th
percentile for just about everything. She eats everything and loves
almost anything we let her try. Unfortunately we also found out that
her infection hadn't gone away and in fact it is a double ear infection
and she is back on antibiotics. Even my doctor said she wassurprised because she certainly wasn't acting sick. ha ha I suppose this is a good thing!

I promise some sweet footage soon!

Graduation

Yes, it's true. I am graduating.
I didn't walk last time and I won't get another chance to walk in Utah, so here we go!

Friday, May 2, 2008

Jon M. Huntsman Center @ the University if Utah
Mario Capecchi, is speaking for commencement at 8:30 A.M., but we don't plan on going to that.
The ceremony where I walk starts at 11:15 A.M., be seated no later than 11:00, in the same building.

Everyone is invited! I realize it's a Friday and a lot of you will probably have to work, but if you can make it you are more than welcome to come! Rumor has it Grandma Sonia and Grandpa Tom are riding the new "Front-Runner" train up and then taking Trax to the stadium. Looks like Grandpa Tom's gone green...

My cap and gown come with 'swooping' sleeves and a hood!
(like this, except the colors on the hood are white and red.)
(And I'm far better looking than the mannequin.)

Megan and Morgan

Megan and Morgan - let my love

Morg and I were up goofing off all night. This is one of the songs that came out of it. We had some serious fun. Its simple and nothing super exciting but fun all the same. I dont think we sound horrible. We thought we shold totally blog it. As soon as the other songs sound better we will post those too.

You'll want to scroll to the bottom of the page and have the music stop playing so five million songs arent playing at once.

If i can do this well you can do that

So i haven't been able to access my blog to write about the greatest thing EVER.

So Ryan, Addie and I were at the gateway in Salt Lake and we decided to go into lens crafters b/c Ryan's glasses got broken when we were at Jeff and Tracy's and he really needs new ones (maybe a good birthday present?) the current
glasses are being held together by duct tape. So here's the best part
there was only one other customer in the store and we stood right next
to him and i started looking at him and then i realized OH MY GOSH IT'S
RYAN EVANS... HELLO from High School musical??? duh! I almost starting
singing "BOP BOP BOP bop to the top" but decided against since he
looked like he was trying to be incognito. I should have shamelessly taken a picture with him but oh well. It was the best star sighting ever. Especially b/c i spent about 17 days watching high school musical 2 almost every day with Tay and Austin.

Home sweet home (but not for long)

it's good to be home. Addie is feeling great and her yeast infection is almost all healed and we will be done with the amoxcillan on saturday. The plan ride didnt seem to bother her ears at all. It has been fun to watch Addie discover all her toys again. She is also climbing on everything. She likes to sit up in her bed before she cries to let us know shes awake now too. So whenever i lay her down to change her diaper she just sits right back up. She is also talking a lot more and lots of different noises. She is even more interactive and has a whole batch of new facial expressions, that are pretty funny.

I have been searching high and low for a great place to live in North Carolina. I figure I have about six weeks to find a place to live and pack us up, sell all the big stuff and our car (s). Anyone want to buy an '97 gold infiniti? Perhaps a 2003 silver honda civic? ha ha. I found my dream apartment but i am not so sure we can afford it

its bound to melt your heart

Tracy and Jeff get home tonight and although i have had fun with the kids, its hard to be gone for 17 days. I was actually gone the week before i came here too for spring break. So its been almost a month, wow.
Addison is feeling about a million times better and the fever is completely gone. That's wonderful b/c i didn't really want to fly with a sick baby.
So we have begun looking at a place to live in North Carolina. I can't believe how quickly this is all coming. I know nothing about the area and i have never been there so i am trying to research hard to make sure we get into a great ward and a fun place to live. It looks like they have a fun and funky downtown with some great shopping (Urban outfitters... SCORE!). Unfortunately Ikea is in Virgina, but i will just have to plan an ikea weekend b/c i cannot live without that place. So i have about 5 or 6 weeks to find a place for us to live and figure out how the best way for us to move across country will be. We are trying to include Palm Springs into our plans.

Well time to get packed.

OH AND A SHOUTOUT TO MY COUSIN CARA... CONGRATS ON PASSING THE BAR, LADY!

another twilight gift!

addison update:

Last night was kinda scary, i woke up to check on her in the middle of the night b/c her meds had worn off and it was time to give her more and i took her temp b/c she felt alarmingly HOT. She had a fever of 105.4! Ryan and I managed to get it back down fairly quick with a cool bath and cool towels and medicine. I am so ready for her to get better, that was a little scary. I would never want her to have convulsions, apparently at 105 they can start convulsing. So glad we caught it. Phew! Sick babies are the worst. But she is doing much better since its been almost 48 hours of antibiotics. She is actually dancing and clapping to Yo gabba gabba right now!

she is too too cute!

Addison's first earache

So it ended up being an ear infection. She started running a fever of 103.5 yesterday and i took her to the er and got her checked out and she is on amoxicillin.
I am just glad we can now start getting her better. The whole fever thing is scary when you don't know what you re doing but thanks to my mom last night when Addie's fever hit 104.4 my mom helped me get it back down and didn't even complain about me bugging her at 5 am. THANK YOU MOM! (i also learned that you can give a baby Motrin and Tylenol together phew!) the doctor called me back about Austin and it is a yeast infection so i am going to get some medicine for him today and then we can finally start to restore order! ha ha
and I can't forget how much i appreciated Kathy, she really saved the day. Her and Taylor were on a date. So i called her to tell her that i was at the ER and ask if she could keep Taylor till i got home. And she did even better she came and picked up Austin and took both kids home and fed them and put them to bed and put the dishes in the dishwasher and even some laundry!!! I don't know what i would have done without her yesterday... She is so awesome!

cause pink is my favorite color

after an adventurous weekend with the kids and Ryan, its back to just me and the kids. It has been a rocky start to a week. Last night Addison was up most of the night and when i went to get her this morning and from her nap her eyes were sealed shut by a bunch of eye goo. I had to use a wet rag to get them to open all the way, i don't know how those little eyes can produce so much discharge. So i went to the pharmacy to get some baby orajel b/c i thought that what was causing the fever and the eye discharge but the pharmacist recommended i call my doctor b/c she didn't think her eyes were connected to the teething. Turns out she has pink eye in both eyes. (or at least that was her oer the phone diagnosis) My stupid nurse just told me to go to insta-care and they would give me a eye drops. I tried to explain that it wouldn't work and it would be easier if she could call the perspiration into the pharmacy for me but no. She told me i could also just use a cold compress and keep wiping her eyes and keep the other kids away from her... that sounds easy. ha!

if you have any tips, please share... i am only slightly desperate.

i took this pic of addie and although she doesnt feel good at all, she still smiles for her picture. what a ham!

this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it SHINE.

I can hardly stand it! Ryan gets here tonight and i am more than excited to see him. Its no fun being apart, but this time i missed him "too" much! The kids are excited as well.
Can't wait to see you!

As a side note: Addie is getting her two front teeth. one is breaking through faster than the other but its exciting. Unfortunately she has been in a tremendous amount of pain and usually can't get through the night without motrin and teething tablets! Poor little girl. but it will sure be cute. she is also scooting all over the place. No crawling yet but it's so close we will keep you posted.
