Homecoming 5k

After four whole hours of sleep, I was up and getting my family ready for our first ever 5k with all three of us!
I just recently scored a sweet deal on a jogging stroller off Craigslist and i decided i was ready to break it in!
This morning at 8:15 we ran the University of Utah Homecoming 5k! My goal was only to beat my time of 45 minutes but as i arrived they informed me that i could enter myself into the stroller division, so my focus changed. As I looked around I realized i was the only one with a stroller and felt fairly confident. It was rather disheartening when we walked to the starting line and saw some skinny mamas with their jogging strollers. So I told Ryan that I would concentrate on beating my time not the other moms... YEAH RIGHT!
This was the hardest 5k i have ever run. It was intense because the hills around campus and running with a jogging stroller for the very first time.
I don't recommend entering a 5k with your jogger if you have never done it before, unless you have a wonderful husband to run by your side and help when it comes to pushing it up the hill. We were neck in neck with the other 2 strollers the entire time. You see, I am one of the most competitive people I know (excluding my sisters) so once I had competition in sight I managed to push myself much harder than i would otherwise. (which I'm sure I'll pay for tomorrow.) Which is why I love running 5K's more than i love running otherwise. I thrive on competition. I am the person who will run beside you on a treadmill at the gym and keeping peeking over to what your time is, so that i can beat you. (And man does it feel good when i achieve my silent victories!) When we had the finish line in sight I saw that it said 39 minutes 52 seconds, so i kicked it into full gear coming in in 40 min. Not only did i beat my time, I managed to (with the help of Ryan but we will take a win however we can get it) WIN SECOND PLACE FOR THE STROLLER DIVISION!

I won a bag of goodies and football tickets... totally worth it. All i really needed was to have my name called over the loud speaker as a winner! ha ha I felt so validated. And Addison loved her new jogging stroller, she even feel sound asleep for most of the run. We will definitely be doing this again!!!

My reviews of the season premieres

SPOILER ALERT

After spending my entire day/night watching all my shows online. ( Because I managed to miss everything except for ghost whisperer, which didn't even make the list) . This is what happens when your husband works every single friday night. Anyways,
I am ready to give my opinions on the new seasons, so far...

Grey's Anatomy I am tired of Meredith and Mcdreamy's relationship. I adore Meredith’s sister and I think her and George would be good together if he wasn't married. I hate George more than ever because of Izzie. Izzie usually makes me SO mad I can hardly stand it but I loved that she saved the deer and then yelled at her interns after they called her a dud. But if George and izzie hook it up (again) and hurt Callie (even more) I will be so mad. Callie has her issues but at least she isn't a lying, cheating jerk like her husband. And I hope Callie finds about Izzie and George so that she can make their lives a living hell as the new chief resident. (Isn’t that what her new position is called?) All in all i think Meredith's sister will really mix things up this season. Oh and i am so glad Burke's gone.

The Office- As funny as always. The 5k race for the cure of rabies was hilarious. I am stoked that Pamela and Jim are back together. Dwight wins my heart, as always. He is so hilarious. No really great quotes in this episode but funny none the less.

Scrubs- October 25th? Is that right?

And for fun I watched

Private Practic
e- Addison is wonderful! This will actually be a good spin off. How often d
oes that happen? Fraiser- good Angel- Bad. She is such a strong woman and doesn't get pushed around. I love her! The episode was awesome. I even almost cried when the girl almost died and Addison saved her and the baby. It was so good. The whole cheating husband that died, yeah well good riddance. But still wanting to have his baby and all that was a little disgusting. The psychiatrist whose patient couldn’t cope at the idea of having lost her son actually made me cry, so sad. But I am thinking I will be a private practice fan. The cast is really awesome.

I am also excited for Family Guy but no reviews needed for that. Oh and by the way Moonlight is a total waste of time. I got excited when I heard the story line; Vampire falls in love with a human girl. But it blows. (although i will probably give it one more chance)

My reviews- the end.

Watch out! It's a post from Ryan!

So on Saturday I finally had a full day off, which with my new church calling, all 4+ Jobs, and school has been a long time coming. Being such a a momentous occasion, I thought I'd recount it for you here:
Megan decided to run the 5K for the Greek Festival with Alicia, so we got up early and she ran/walked the whole thing only 7 weeks after having Addison! I'm so proud! Addison and I went to a German bakery, bought a 'berliner' and then drove down to cheer mom along as she crossed the half way point. Of course she and Alicia had matching shirts proclaiming there love for Edward Cullen. Some guy commented as we walked by after the race, "You seem to have the same disease my wife has." To which I now say, No Kidding! Husbands of Edward lovers unite! We are tired of being held up to impossible standards set by vampires! ... Or something like that.

anyway...

So after the run we took a nap, which was possibly the greatest moment of the day, I haven't had time for a nap in what seems like years...
So then it was decided after Geoff and Alicia informed us of how busy the Greek Festival was, that we should all go to Oktoberfest at Snowbird. We did and ate some great chocolate cake and a pretzel, listened to alp horns and yodeling, Megan and Addie polka-ed and most importantly...

we took a picture with this guy --->
aww, Daddy's little girl

Our baby is so much more cosmopolitan than your baby!

Its amazing that i can love her MORE AND MORE everyday!

Today was a milestone! I was playing with my little Addie bug during Sunday school and SHE SMILED AT ME (and I am pretty sure it was on purpose)! This will add a whole new element to this motherhood thing if she can start smiling at me.
She looked really cute today at church! So of course there is a picture, duh. I am obsessed with my child!
